Milledgeville - Baldwin's Junior Miss Official Confectionery!

Milledgeville - Baldwin's Junior Miss is a Scholarship Program. Each year the Junior Miss program provides opportunities for our area high school junior girls to compete for college scholarships while improving their own personal development in the areas of leadership, scholastic achievement, physical fitness, talent and self expression. This program also encourages us to give back to our community through various volunteer opportunities.

This year their are 25 participants. The winner of this weekend's program receives a bronze medal and goes to the state level program. Then the winner of the state Junior Miss receives a silver medal. Then she goes to the National level to compete. Each participant receives a bronze medal cookie that I was asked to make.

Last year's Miss Milledgeville Junior Miss won the Miss Georgia Junior Miss!

The theme this year is Junior Miss ROCKS!
I made cookies like this for the judges. And one silver cookie for the current 2010 Junior Miss, since she won the State level and is Miss Georgia Junior Miss!

My husband's cousin Katie just had a baby boy and she asked me to paint her a painting to go over his crib. This is her second boy and so she sent the bumper bedding over to my house. She wanted me to put the animals around the prayer as a "border" and then write the end of a prayer she recites with her babies before bed. Talk about sweet! Her walls in the nursery are painted light blue, so image this on a blue wall, over the bedding.

A dear friend asked me to make some paintings for her children's bathroom. She is a Christian (as am I) and thought it would be precious to have 3 paintings. One with the verse from Matthew about how Jesus called the disciples from fishing for fish.. to becoming fishers of men! With the other two having their names and fish on them. She has a bright and colorful shower curtain, so we used it as a guide for colors. I think it turned out great.

We decided to make 3 cakes.

The smallest cake (8 in) is a Key Lime Cake with Cream Cheese Icing.

(who Lindsey said was the best cake I've ever made)

The middle sized cake (10 in) is a Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Icing.

The largest cake (12 in) is Butter Cake with Butter cream Icing.

Johnnett (Lindsey's mom) wanted once cake to have polka dots..

I was asked to make snowflake cookies for a wedding to be their "party favor" to their guest!

And what a perfect idea! Specially with all this snow this winter!

It even snowed on her wedding day!

I ended up making around 300 cookies, bagged and bowed!

Her colors were white, black and silver.

So I did white icing, with silver accent, and silver edible glitter.

It is a Cream Cheese Pound Cake, with the snow white buttercream icing (taste like what your grandmother used to make, no actual butter is used, not too sweet but just the right amount) with an orange decoration for fall..

A friend of mine asked me to make a cake for a Breast Cancer Awareness dinner at Georgia College & State University this past Friday. It was a fundraiser in support of fighting Breast Cancer. Since my dearest friend lost her mother to Breast Cancer, I have always wanted/will always be supporting this cause!

The benefit was a musical presentation and the cakes made/donated were the food during the show. The whole community was invited and was able to enjoy the show and desserts!

I made a chocolate cake with a chocolate ganache butter cream icing.

I need your help!

It seems that I have friends and family who not only love my cooking.. but also want me to start painting things for them.. their children's rooms.. and bathrooms etc..

I can't tell you how blessed and honored I have felt over these last few weeks from so many of you praising those fish I did for Tiffany.

Since then, I have been asked by 3 more people to do some paintings for them as well. I actually have 5 other paintings I am working on right now! I just can't believe it! I am completely overwhelmed.. but I know God has a plan.. and who knows, maybe this will help us (Paul & I) be able to afford the ability to let me not work at State Farm from 9 - 5, 5 days a week.. but be able to stay home when we do start a family.

So.. here is what I need:

First.. your prayers & continued support! I can't do this without Jesus's Grace! Only He can make this work.. and I want it to be Christ centered! I know He will continue to guide me and open the right doors and close the wrong ones!

Second.. I need a good business name! Paul and I were talking.. and I agree with him about this.. I need to have one business name for both the cakes, cookies, brownies and goodies.. as well as the children's room paintings. So please put on your thinking caps and help me come up with a creative fun catchy name. I'd like to think, if in 5 years, I could have a bakery/store front and this could even be the name on the sign.. so it needs to be a good one! It needs to be lasting.. not something I would get tired of in a few years.. classic!

Here are some I've been playing with.. remember it's for not only cakes.. but children's paintings too.. and I would love to incorporate my faith in Jesus into also if possible!
